Stage V Tractors and Locked Bosch MD1 ECUs: MD1CS069, MD1CE101, MD1CS089

New tractors built to the Stage V emission standard mostly use Bosch’s MD1 family, locked from the factory. Older EDC17 ECUs could often be read via OBD; MD1 units first need to be unlocked with the right method. Stage 1 and emission solutions for tractor MD1 ECUs are available at ECU Prime.

Which brand uses which MD1?

• Bosch MD1CS069: Case IH, New Holland, McCormick, Hattat and Carraro. Stage 1, AdBlue / SCR, DPF, EGR and emission package.
• Bosch MD1CE101: Case IH, New Holland (FPT engines) and Arbos. Stage 1, AdBlue / SCR and emission package.
• Bosch MD1CS089: Deutz-Fahr and SAME. Stage 1 and emission solutions.
• Bosch MD1CC898: Erkunt. Stage 1, AdBlue / SCR, DPF and emission package.
• Bosch MD1CS018: Solis. Stage 1.

How is an MD1 read?

Depending on version, MD1 ECUs are read on the bench or after a “boot” unlock; some versions need the ECU removed. A full backup of the original software is taken every time. For details see our locked MD1CE101, Deutz-Fahr MD1CS089 and MD1CS069 articles.

The ECU type depends on model year and engine. The exact type is confirmed from the ECU label or by reading it with a diagnostic tool; send a photo of the label on WhatsApp and we will tell you which file applies.

How it works

1. Reading: upload the original file read with your tool, or visit one of our locations.
2. Calibration: the file is prepared for the exact engine and ECU software version, checksum corrected; the original is archived.
3. Application and check: fault scan and run / road test after writing.
