Honda Civic and CR-V 1.6 / 2.2 i-DTEC Chip Tuning: DPF, EGR on Bosch EDC17C58

Honda has few diesels, but strong ones: the 1.6 i-DTEC in the Civic and CR-V, and the 2.2 i-DTEC and 2.2 i-CTDi before it. On the 1.6 i-DTEC, short trips keep the DPF regeneration from finishing. These engines use the Bosch EDC17C58, the 2.2s the EDC17CP16, EDC17CP06 and EDC16C31. Solutions for Honda diesels are available at ECU Prime.
Which engine, which ECU?
- Bosch EDC17C58: 1.6 i-DTEC (Civic, CR-V, HR-V). Stage 1, DPF, EGR, emission package; combined Stage 1 + DPF.
- Bosch EDC17CP16 and EDC17CP06: 2.2 i-DTEC. Stage 1, Stage 2, DPF, EGR and emission package.
- Bosch EDC16C31: 2.2 i-CTDi. Stage 1, Stage 2, DPF and swirl (TVA).
Engine pages: Civic 1.6 i-DTEC Stage 1, CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC Stage 1, CR-V 2.2 i-DTEC Stage 1. Models: Civic, CR-V, HR-V and Accord.
The ECU type depends on model year and engine. The exact type is confirmed from the ECU label or by reading it with a diagnostic tool; send a photo of the label on WhatsApp and we will tell you which file applies.
Common faults
- DPF loading and endless regeneration in city driving
- Sooted EGR valve and cooler, loss of pulling power
- AdBlue / SCR warning and NOx sensor failure
- Boost pressure fault and limp mode

How it works
- Reading: upload the original file read with your tool, or visit one of our locations.
- Calibration: the file is prepared for the exact engine and ECU software version, checksum corrected; the original is archived.
- Application and check: fault scan and run / road test after writing.
Workshops get the same solutions through the ECU Prime file service.
