Audi A3, A4 and A6 TDI Chip Tuning: AdBlue, DPF, EGR on EDC17CP14, EDC17C64 and PCR2.1

Audi’s 1.6 and 2.0 TDI engines are common in the A3, A4, A5, A6 and Q5. The 2.0 TDI in the A4 B8 and Q5 uses the Bosch EDC17CP14; the A3 8V, A4 B9 and A6 C7 the EDC17C64 and EDC17C74; the A3 1.6 TDI the Continental PCR2.1 and Delphi DCM6.2V. Solutions for Audi TDIs are available at ECU Prime on these families.
Which Audi, which ECU?
- Bosch EDC17CP14: A4 B8, A5, Q5 2.0 TDI. Stage 1, Stage 2, DPF, EGR, lambda, swirl (TVA), emission package.
- Bosch EDC17C64 and EDC17C74: A3 8V, A4 B9, A6 C7 2.0 TDI. Stage 1, Stage 2, AdBlue / SCR, DPF, EGR; combined Stage 1 + AdBlue.
- Bosch EDC17C46: A3 8P 2.0 TDI. Stage 1, Stage 2, AdBlue / SCR, DPF, EGR.
- Continental PCR2.1 and Delphi DCM6.2V: A3 1.6 TDI. Stage 1, Stage 2, DPF, EGR; AdBlue on the DCM6.2V.
For the VW side of these engines see our Golf and Passat 2.0 TDI and 1.6 TDI articles, for the new 2.0 TDI evo our MD1CS004 article. Engine pages: A4 2.0 TDI Stage 1, A3 1.6 TDI Stage 1. Models: A3, A4, A5, A6 and Q5.
The ECU type depends on model year and engine. The exact type is confirmed from the ECU label or by reading it with a diagnostic tool; send a photo of the label on WhatsApp and we will tell you which file applies.
Common faults
- DPF loading and endless regeneration in city driving
- Sooted EGR valve and cooler, loss of pulling power
- AdBlue / SCR warning and NOx sensor failure
- Boost pressure fault and limp mode

How it works
- Reading: upload the original file read with your tool, or visit one of our locations.
- Calibration: the file is prepared for the exact engine and ECU software version, checksum corrected; the original is archived.
- Application and check: fault scan and run / road test after writing.
Workshops get the same solutions through the ECU Prime file service.
