Audi A6, A7, Q7 3.0 TDI quattro Chip Tuning: AdBlue, DPF on Bosch EDC17CP44 and EDC17CP20

The 3.0 TDI V6 is the strong diesel of the Audi A6, A7, A8, Q5 and Q7. Before the locked Bosch MD1 ECUs, these engines used the Bosch EDC17CP44 and, on older cars, the EDC17CP20. Solutions for the earlier 3.0 TDI are available at ECU Prime on these ECUs.
Which 3.0 TDI, which ECU?
- Bosch EDC17CP44: A6 C7, A7, Q5, Q7 3.0 TDI. Stage 1, Stage 2, AdBlue / SCR, DPF, EGR, emission package; Stage 1 + DPF and Stage 1 + EGR.
- Bosch EDC17CP20: A6 C6, A4 B8, A5 2.7 / 3.0 TDI. Stage 1, Stage 2, DPF, EGR, swirl (TVA).
- Bosch EDC17CP54: Stage 1, AdBlue / SCR and emission package.
For the new 3.0 TDI (MD1CP004 / MD1CP014) see our Audi and Porsche 3.0 TDI article. Engine page: A6 3.0 TDI Stage 1. Models: A6, A7, A8, Q5 and Q7.
The ECU type depends on model year and engine. The exact type is confirmed from the ECU label or by reading it with a diagnostic tool; send a photo of the label on WhatsApp and we will tell you which file applies.
Common faults
- DPF loading and endless regeneration in city driving
- Sooted EGR valve and cooler, loss of pulling power
- AdBlue / SCR warning and NOx sensor failure
- Boost pressure fault and limp mode

How it works
- Reading: upload the original file read with your tool, or visit one of our locations.
- Calibration: the file is prepared for the exact engine and ECU software version, checksum corrected; the original is archived.
- Application and check: fault scan and run / road test after writing.
Workshops get the same solutions through the ECU Prime file service.
Emission-related software is offered only for uses permitted by applicable law (off-road / closed-site use, racing, export, diagnostics); road use and inspection compliance are the owner’s responsibility.
