Hyundai and Kia 1.6 CRDi Kefico SIM2K-510 ECU Unlocked
The Kefico SIM2K-510 engine control unit used in Hyundai and Kia 1.6 CRDi diesel vehicles can now be read and written. The ECU protection is opened automatically, and the work can be done through the OBD socket without removing the ECU from the vehicle.

Which vehicles use it?
The Kefico SIM2K-510 is used in 2017–2021 model 1.6 CRDi diesel Hyundai Tucson NX4 and Kona, and in Kia Sportage NQ5, Ceed and Stonic models. Because the same model can carry a different ECU depending on year and engine, the software number is checked before any work.
What changed?
On this ECU the original software can now be read and backed up over OBD. Because the ECU is not removed, the work takes less time. On some versions with CAN-FD communication, additional connection equipment may be needed for writing; we check this beforehand from the vehicle's software information.
What work can be done?
Stage 1 power and torque software and solutions for DPF, EGR and AdBlue faults are assessed depending on the ECU variant. Every file is prepared from the vehicle's own original software; the original backup is kept and the car can be returned to factory software on request.
Emissions-related software is offered only for uses permitted by applicable local law; road use and inspection compliance are the owner's responsibility.

Does the ECU need to be removed on a Tucson 1.6 CRDi?
On vehicles with the SIM2K-510, reading and writing can be done through the OBD socket; the ECU is not removed. On some versions, additional connection may be needed for writing.
Can a DPF fault on a Sportage NQ5 1.6 CRDi be solved?
For DPF related faults a diagnosis is made first; if there is no mechanical problem, a software solution is assessed depending on the ECU variant.
