Claas Tractor ECU Solutions: Bosch EDC17CV41, EDC17C53 and Phoenix

Claas works with several engine makers on its Axion and Arion tractors, so the ECU side varies too. Next to the Bosch EDC17 family, John Deere-engined models use Phoenix and some models use Continental engine ECUs. Solutions for Claas are available at ECU Prime on all of these families.
Which ECU does your Claas use?
- Bosch EDC17CV41: combined Stage 1 + AdBlue and Stage 1 + emission package files, fault code (DTC) editing.
- Bosch EDC17C53: Stage 1, emission package and DTC editing.
- Phoenix L4, L12, L16 and L21: Stage 1 on John Deere-engined Claas models.
- Continental MCM2.1 and VDO ACM2.1 / 2.2, Bosch MD1CS069, EDC17CV42: emission package; combined with Stage 1 on the EDC17CV42.
- Temic ZGS gearbox controller: gearbox Stage 1 software.
The ECU type depends on model year and engine. The exact type is confirmed from the ECU label or by reading it with a diagnostic tool; send a photo of the label on WhatsApp and we will tell you which file applies.
Common faults
- AdBlue / SCR warning and derate
- DPF loading and endless regeneration
- Sooted EGR valve and warning lamp
- Torque drop under heavy load
See our Claas page and Claas AdBlue fault solution.
How it works
- Reading: upload the original file read with your tool, or visit one of our locations.
- Calibration: the file is prepared for the exact engine and ECU software version, checksum corrected; the original is archived.
- Application and check: fault scan and run / road test after writing.
Workshops get the same solutions through the ECU Prime file service.
Emission-related software is offered only for uses permitted by applicable law (off-road / closed-site use, racing, export, diagnostics); road use and inspection compliance are the owner’s responsibility.
