Mercedes A 180 d, B 180 d, CLA and Citan 1.5 CDI: Continental SID310 and Bosch MD1CS006

Mercedes’ small diesel, the 1.5 CDI, is the 1.5 dCi developed with Renault, used in the A 180 d, B 180 d, CLA 180 d and Citan. The ECU is shared too: the Continental SID307 / SID309 / SID310 on earlier cars and the Bosch MD1CS006 on new ones. Solutions are available at ECU Prime on these ECUs.
Which ECU does the 1.5 CDI use?
- Continental SID310: Stage 1, AdBlue / SCR, DPF, EGR, lambda, emission package; combined Stage 1 + AdBlue.
- Continental SID307 and SID309: Stage 1, Stage 1 + DPF, Stage 1 + EGR and emission package.
- Bosch MD1CS006: new-generation 1.5 CDI. Stage 1, AdBlue / SCR, DPF, EGR; Stage 1 + AdBlue.
For MD1CS006 details see our 1.5 Blue dCi article. Engine page: A 180 CDI Stage 1. Models: A-Class, B-Class, CLA, GLA and Citan.
The ECU type depends on model year and engine. The exact type is confirmed from the ECU label or by reading it with a diagnostic tool; send a photo of the label on WhatsApp and we will tell you which file applies.
Common faults
- DPF loading and endless regeneration in city driving
- Sooted EGR valve and cooler, loss of pulling power
- AdBlue / SCR warning and NOx sensor failure
- Boost pressure fault and limp mode

How it works
- Reading: upload the original file read with your tool, or visit one of our locations.
- Calibration: the file is prepared for the exact engine and ECU software version, checksum corrected; the original is archived.
- Application and check: fault scan and run / road test after writing.
Workshops get the same solutions through the ECU Prime file service.
Emission-related software is offered only for uses permitted by applicable law (off-road / closed-site use, racing, export, diagnostics); road use and inspection compliance are the owner’s responsibility.
