FLEX and Kefico SIM2K-510: OBD Support for Hyundai and Kia
On 30 October 2026 Magicmotorsport announced FLEX 8.28.0.0 with FLEX-exclusive OBD support for Kefico SIM2K-510 ECUs used in Hyundai and Kia vehicles.

Two working modes
In OBD mode you connect the OBD cable, download the Virtual Read and make the changes you need. When no Virtual Read is available, OBD on Bench mode takes a real read of the ECU. In both modes the ECU is unlocked automatically in the first step, during reading or writing.
CAN-FD versions
Versions with CAN-FD communication are also supported. A real read follows the connection diagram in the manual; writing requires the new CAN-FD FLX4.4 adapter.
Technical details
Memories: Virtual Read, read, write, checksum and maps. Licence: FLS0.1 or FLS0.5. Manufacturer times: connection about 30 seconds, reading about 5 minutes, writing about 10 minutes.

Does the ECU have to be removed for SIM2K-510?

Is extra hardware needed for writing?
On CAN-FD versions, writing requires the CAN-FD FLX4.4 adapter.
