About the Land Rover / Jaguar 2.2 TD4 / SD4 and 2.7 / 3.0 TDV6 / SDV6
The PSA-Ford-derived 2.2 diesel (TD4 / SD4) powered the Freelander 2, Evoque and Discovery Sport; the 2.7 and 3.0 V6 diesels (TDV6 / SDV6) the Discovery 3 and 4, Range Rover Sport, Jaguar XF and S-Type. They are torque-focused, heavy-duty engines.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the Land Rover Range Rover / Sport 3.0 SDV6 306hp
Stage 1 recalibrates rail pressure, injection, boost and torque maps. The 150 hp 2.2 TD4 shares hardware with the SD4, so its gain is clear; the V6 diesels gain substantially in mid-range torque. The automatic gearbox capacity is respected.
Pre-remap checklist
- Crankshaft and oil service history on the 2.7 TDV6.
- Turbos and EGR coolers on the 3.0 SDV6.
- DPF load.
- Clutch / automatic gearbox and transfer case oil.
This section is based on Prime Chiptuning workshop experience; the power and torque figures come from the catalogue measurement above.
