How a Stage 1 remap works on the Mercedes-Benz E 220d (2.0d) 194hp
Stage 1 recalibrates rail pressure, injection, boost and the torque limiter. Together with the 9G-Tronic gearbox, a full torque delivery from low revs results; overtaking and long-distance comfort improve clearly. Emissions systems are preserved.
Pre-remap checklist
- AdBlue system and NOx sensor health.
- DPF load.
- Oil service and the correct oil specification.
- Gearbox oil service.
This section is based on Prime Chiptuning workshop experience; the power and torque figures come from the catalogue measurement above.
