John Deere 6M Tractor Tuning and Power Upgrade
The John Deere 6M is John Deere's mid-range field tractor range. The engine control unit (ECU) software is recalibrated on the machine's own original file; the original software is backed up.
John Deere 6M power remap
A power remap on the John Deere 6M recalibrates the fuel quantity, injection timing, boost pressure and torque limiter maps. Manufacturers sell the same engine block at several power levels within a range, so much of the difference between them is software. The calibration respects the limits of the cooling system, transmission and PTO.
John Deere 6M AdBlue fault solution
In the field, most faults come from the emission systems: a particulate filter (DPF) that fills up during low-rpm and short jobs, an EGR valve clogged with soot, and NOx sensor, pump or heater faults in the AdBlue (SCR) system. When these occur the tractor enters limp mode and work stops in the middle of harvest. The cause is diagnosed first; the software solution is applied according to the ECU type.
ECU and compatibility for the John Deere 6M
Services with a verified solution for John Deere in our library: Stage 1 Remap and AdBlue / SCR Delete. The control units we work on in John Deere machines include PHOENIX L21, PHOENIX L33, PHOENIX L9 and PHOENIX L9 / L11 / L12. The same model can carry a different ECU depending on build year and engine option, so we confirm compatibility for the John Deere 6M from a photo of the ECU label or from the file read out.
Where is the difference noticed on the John Deere 6M?
- Heavy tillage with ploughs, chisels and subsoilers
- PTO-heavy work such as baling, forage harvesting and feed mixing
- Road haulage and hills with a loaded trailer
- Tractors whose engine is at its limit for the implement they pull
