Ford EcoBlue Chip Tuning, AdBlue and DPF Solution: Bosch MD1CS005
Ford’s EcoBlue diesels range from the Focus and Kuga to the Transit Connect and Transit. On new EcoBlue engines the ECU is mostly the locked Bosch MD1CS005, especially on the 1.5 EcoBlue; the 2.0 EcoBlue may use a Continental SID212 depending on model year. What is available on the MD1CS005?
- Stage 1: power and torque; combined with DPF, EGR, AdBlue or the emission package.
- AdBlue / SCR, NOx, DPF, EGR, lambda: fixes for emission faults.
- Speed limit (Vmax): speed limiter adjustment on commercials.
Which cars?
Ford Focus, Kuga, Transit Connect, Transit, Transit / Tourneo Custom EcoBlue. The 2.0 EcoBlue may use a SID212; confirm from the label.
How is it read and written?
The MD1 family ships locked; reading needs the ECU to be unlocked with the right method. Magicmotorsport Flex 7.31 (September 2025) reads the MD1CS005 over OBD on the 1.5 EcoBlue; for the Continental SID212 used on the 2.0 EcoBlue, Autotuner added a one-time bench patch followed by OBD in March 2026. Workshops can upload files read with these tools to the ECU Prime file service.
The ECU type depends on model year and engine. The exact type is confirmed from the ECU label or by reading it with a diagnostic tool; send a photo of the label on WhatsApp and we will tell you which file applies.

How it works
- Reading: upload the original file read with your tool, or visit one of our locations.
- Calibration: the file is prepared for the exact engine and ECU software version, checksum corrected; the original is archived.
- Application and check: fault scan and run / road test after writing.
