Peugeot, Citroën, Opel 1.5 BlueHDi AdBlue and Stage 1: Solutions for the Locked Bosch MD1CS003

Peugeot, Citroën, Opel 1.5 BlueHDi AdBlue and Stage 1: Solutions for the Locked Bosch MD1CS003

The 1.5 litre diesel in 2021+ Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, DS and Toyota Proace models uses the Bosch MD1CS003 engine ECU. The unit is locked; until now, reading its software meant removing components from the circuit board. On 28 September 2026 Magicmotorsport announced a new method for Flex that works without removing any component.

What was announced?

  • The method unlocks the unit with the manufacturer's Korhex hardware; nothing is removed from the board.
  • A full backup can be taken; software and memory can be read and written.
  • Once unlocked, the unit can be programmed on the bench.
  • The manufacturer's sample list: DS 7 Crossback, Fiat Scudo, Opel Mokka, Peugeot 5008 and Toyota Proace City (model year 2021, 1.5 diesel).

The most common complaint on these cars: AdBlue

On 1.5 BlueHDi engines the picture we see most often is an AdBlue warning on the dashboard followed by a "no engine start in so many kilometres" countdown. Whether the cause is the tank, the pump or the NOx sensor, a software solution requires the ECU to be readable.

What is ready on our side?

Our library holds 698 verified solutions for Bosch MD1CS003:

  • Peugeot, Citroën, Opel: AdBlue fault solution and Stage 1 power software
  • Peugeot, Citroën: DPF and EGR fault solutions as well
  • Toyota: AdBlue, DPF and EGR fault solutions and Stage 1

Our entries for DS models are limited; on those cars we confirm compatibility on the vehicle's own file.

1.2 petrol engine: Bosch MG1CS032

On 25 September 2026 the same method was announced for the Bosch MG1CS032 on 1.2 litre petrol engines (examples: Opel Corsa, Opel Mokka, Peugeot 2008, DS 3, Jeep Avenger). For MG1CS032 our library currently lists a Stage 1 solution for Opel only; for other makes we make no promise before seeing the file.

How does the job work?

Fault codes are read first and the ECU type is confirmed. A full backup of the original software is taken, the solution is built on the vehicle's own file and checked with a road test. Because the original backup is kept, the work can be reversed.
