Caterpillar Machinery ECU Solutions: AdBlue, DPF, EGR and Stage 1

From backhoe loaders to excavators, Caterpillar is one of the most common brands on building sites. Depending on machine age and engine, CAT uses its own engine ECU or Bosch ECUs. Solutions for Caterpillar are available at ECU Prime on these families.
Which ECU does your Caterpillar use?
- Caterpillar A5E2: CAT’s own engine ECU; emission package (AdBlue / DPF / EGR).
- Bosch EDC17C49 and EDC17CV54: emission package.
- Bosch MD1CE100: Stage 1.
- Denso DCU: AdBlue / SCR solution on the separate dosing unit.
The ECU type depends on model year and engine. The exact type is confirmed from the ECU label or by reading it with a diagnostic tool; send a photo of the label on WhatsApp and we will tell you which file applies.
Common faults
- AdBlue / SCR warning and derate
- DPF loading and frequent regeneration after long idling
- Sooted EGR valve and warning lamp
