BMW 1 Series F20 - 2015 - 2018 125i 218hp — Stage 1 Remap
Stage 1 re-calibrates the ECU software — boost, fuelling and ignition maps — within the factory hardware's safe tolerances. No hardware changes are required.

About the BMW 2.0 turbo petrol (N20 and B48: 320i, 328i, 330i, 520i, 530i, X1, X3)
BMW's four-cylinder 2.0 turbo petrol replaced the naturally aspirated six-cylinders from 2012. As the N20 (2011–2016) and B48 (2015 onwards) it is used in the 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Series, X1, X3, X4 and Mini, from 136 to 306 hp.
How a Stage 1 remap works on the BMW 1 Series F20 125i 218hp
Stage 1 recalibrates boost, ignition and fuelling within the limits of the original hardware. The gain is especially clear on lower outputs such as the 318i, 320i and 520i, since their hardware is largely shared with the 328i / 330i. The twin-scroll turbo responds quickly.
Pre-remap checklist
- Timing chain guides and tensioner on the N20 (a known issue).
- Ignition coils, spark plugs and fuel quality.
- High-pressure fuel pump.
- Boost leaks and wastegate actuator.
This section is based on Prime Chiptuning workshop experience; the power and torque figures come from the catalogue measurement above.
