Caterpillar D6 Dozer Tuning and Power Upgrade
The Caterpillar D6 is Caterpillar's crawler dozer. The engine control unit (ECU) software is recalibrated on the machine's own original file; the original software is backed up.
Caterpillar D6 power remap
A power remap on the Caterpillar D6 recalibrates the fuel quantity, injection timing, boost pressure and torque limiter maps. On a dozer the work is pure tractive effort; with more torque in reserve, rpm drops less when pushing a full blade and ripping. The calibration respects the limits of the engine and the drivetrain.
Caterpillar D6 AdBlue fault solution
Dozers work long hours in dust; with a blocked particulate filter (DPF), an EGR fault or a NOx sensor fault in the AdBlue (SCR) system the machine enters limp mode and work on site stops. The cause is diagnosed first; the software solution is applied according to the ECU type.
ECU and compatibility for the Caterpillar D6
Services with a verified solution for Caterpillar in our library: Stage 1 Remap and AdBlue / SCR Delete. The control units we work on in Caterpillar machines include CATERPILLAR A5E2V2I1, BOSCH EDC17C49, DENSO DCU and BOSCH EDC17CV54. The same model can carry a different ECU depending on build year and engine option, so we confirm compatibility for the Caterpillar D6 from a photo of the ECU label or from the file read out.
Where is the difference noticed on the Caterpillar D6?
- Long pushes with a full blade
- Ripping hard ground
- On slopes and soft ground
